The Leathers family is a proud family with history dating back to 1000 A.D. Below is a brief history:
The leathers family controled the border between Ireland and Scottland in 1000 A.D. until 1603 when King James the IV
decreed that the clans split up and the laws of the border established at Carlisle in 1246 A.D. where officially declared
by the King to be repealed when the country unified under the crowns of Scottland and England.
Now today the Leathers family is big and spread out and is currently in the process of gathering its history which will
be made a part of the official website.
THe Leathers family wishes to thank the many men and women in our country who have served our country in its wars.
